Coaching

I am a full-time Licenced professional Level 3 Squash and Squash 57/Racketball Coach with Enhanced DBS Certificate and Public Liability Insurance.

I have agreements with several Squash Clubs/Leisure Centres who allow me to coach at their venues. Individual lessons can be arranged at one of these venues or at another venue as long as it is mutually convenient

I offer 4 main types of coaching:

COACHING HISTORY

It was when I was playing for the Cardif SRC Squash Teams that I first became interested in Squash Coaching. The local coach needed help coaching the club juniors and I volunteered to help out. I gained my coaching qualifications and I was then asked to coach the under 14 Boys County Squad. After only a year I was fast-tracked to coach the Wales under 14 Girls National Squad, which I did for 5 seasons. After I finished my M.Phil I became the Cardiff SRC Manager for 5 years and during that time I also acted as the Squash Manager and Squash Coach organising all squash coaching/events/tournaments/leagues, etc at the Club. 

When I left Cardiff in 1999 I moved to Hampshire to became the Squash Manager/Squash Coach at Redice Health & Fitness Club near Andover. I also became a Hampshire Boys County Coach, coaching several age-groups between 1999 and 2010. I left Redrice in 2006, when the Club closed, and I became the Professional Squash Coach at Beechdown Health Club, Basingstoke. In 2009 I left Beechdown and became a full-time freelance professional squash coach coaching at various clubs, leisure centres and schools in the North Hampshire/South Berkshire/West Surrey area. I gained my Racketball (Squash 57) Coaching Qualification in 2010 and I achieved my Level 3 Squash Coaching Qualification in 2011.

I regularly attend England Squash National and Regional Coach Training Workshops.

NORTH EAST HAMSHIRE SCHOOLS SPORT PARTNERSHIP

Between 2008 and 2011 I was employed by NEHSSP as Head Squash Coach to deliver mini-squash to into junior and secondary schools in the local. During this time I visited over 20 schools and delivered sessions to over 2,000 pupils. 

In 2010 England Squash awarded me their "Participation Coach of The Year" Award.

ENGLAND SQUASH

Between 2005 and 2008 I was employed by England Squash as their Hampshire Squash Development Officer. This mainly involved delivering mini-squash sessions in local schools.

Since then I have been asked by England Squash (and England Squash & Racketball ) to help deliver various Squash or Racketball Activities including delivering some Racketball Training Workshops to local Leisure Centre Staff.

RUSHMOOR SCHOOL PLUS

Between 2015 and 2018 Rushmoor Schools Plus employed me to deliver Racket Skills/Mini-Squash Training Workshops to teachers of KS1 & KS2 pupils. Therefore giving teachers the skills to teach racket skills/mini-squash skills to their pupils in school.
